PRESS RELEASE – Radio Abbey is taking off!

Radio Abbey is taking off!
This Saturday (3rd November) the Radio Abbey team will be at the Round Table’s Fireworks at the Castle event again, providing the music and entertainment for the crowds before and after the spectacular fireworks display. Members of the team will be mingling with the crowds, taking requests and doing interviews. This is the third year that Radio Abbey has been proud to support this amazing event. You can follow @RadioAbbey and @KRTFireworks to get in touch with the team on Saturday evening.
A lot of other good things are happening at Radio Abbey at the moment. New presenters have been trained and are regularly on air every week, and others are under training now. Louise Hanson, well known in the town for her ‘Kenilworth Vibes’ digital media platform, is doing a show every Friday morning, with lots of news and comment about everything going on in the local community. Louise is also doing a business-focussed show on a Tuesday morning every two weeks.
Two presenters well known in the local arts and music scene, Neil Bradley and Gaylita DeSelby, otherwise known as “Kenilworth’s most famous couple”, are doing their “Brunch with Bradleys” show on Sunday mornings, with special guests every week and lots of good music. Regular presenter Rachael Smith does her 80’s, 90’s and 00’s-themed “Rewind” show on Monday evenings, while DJ Matt Despilia is the host on the turntables at the House Party every Thursday, with a show full of 90’s dance classics.
Radio Abbey is Kenilworth’s own online internet radio station, broadcasting from the Kenilworth Centre in the town centre, and can be found on www.radioabbey.com. Listen in, and make it one of your favourites.
For anyone interested in getting more involved with Radio Abbey, whether on the presenting or production side, please get in contact with Holly Hewitt, the manager of the Kenilworth Centre, on 01926 855205 or by email at hollyhewitt@thekenilworthcentre.com.
